Evaporative Cooling

Evaporative cooling is the natural way to cool your home, and it uses much less energy than other forms of cooling, so you can keep your power bills low and reduce your impact on the environment. With energy prices going up and our summers getting hotter, evaporative cooling has a significant and increasing edge on reverse cycle, when it comes to energy efficiency, performance and lifestyle.

How does it work?
Evaporative cooling is an entirely natural method of cooling, using only air and water – to cool air through the simple principle of evaporation of water.

  1. Hot air is drawn in to the cooler, filtered and passed through water-moistened pads or specifically designed cells.
  2. Some of the water evaporates, absorbing the heat and cooling the air.
  3. A fan then blows this beautifully cooled air throughout the rooms/house and forces hot air out through open windows and doors.

Ducted evaporative air conditioning units are normally positioned on the roof with ducting through the roof space to direct air into the rooms that require cooling.
